Twelve Years Plus One Day

Sweet, huh?  It's from a card my husband gave me for our twelve year anniversary.

As we turned the pages of the years together in our minds, we smiled again at the very drama of eloping in Winchester, Virgina during a blizzard.  What a whirlwind 24 hours that was - filled with the heartpounding excitement of eloping in secret, the relentless snow that crippled trucks and cars along the miles and miles of highways, the comfortable silence between us in the car as we slowly made our way toward the rest of our lives together, both of us content knowing that would be together - forever.

We've certainly had our share of ups & downs, laughter and tears, joy and heartbreak, trials and tribulations.  This past year has been especially difficult, with many unexpected hurdles in our path, but when the day is done and we lie down together to rest our weary minds and bodies, there's never any doubt that we were meant to be together.

"So, fall asleep love, loved by me, for I know love, I am loved by thee."
Robert Browning

Roxanne thats such a beautiful card, the depth of your love is a familiar thing to me with my Gary, we only 14 years together but we know in our hearts,That its us that was meant to be. Some people would say how can you stand to only see one another
, actually any time we are apart we are not happy. Like some strange magnet drawing us ever closer.
love and hugs to the two of you, and I'm so happy to see you still have your blog running. You are absolutely so creative, and I hope your able to do more of that than work yourself to pieces.
